WINNER OF LDS TECH AWARDS! Create a meaningful experience for the whole family as you use this personal tour guide, which will play AUTOMATICALLY as you drive from Independence to Nauvoo. This app is designed to educate, entertain, and inspire, by bringing to life the LDS events which occurred in Missouri and Illinois. As you are planning your trip, this useful app includes a description, hours, address, multiple pictures, and map for EVERY attraction so you know which sites you would like to visit. You can customize your tour and be notified when a stop has the interests you have pre-selected. This app works best with iPhones or iPads with GPS. Check out our screen shots and see for yourself. Please help us to continue to make great apps by REVIEWING THIS APP AFTER YOUR TRIP to let others know how much you have enjoyed it.

Whether you are making the journey from Independence to Nauvoo with your family, as a couple, or with a ward group, most are trying to be inspired and gain a greater testimony of the early church history events. By hearing the whole story, you will appreciate the sacrifice of the early Saints. The app uses GPS tracking to know where you are visiting and will automatically narrate church history of certain points along the route. You will learn the story of the early Saints and the trials they faced being forced from their homes first from Independence, then from Far West and finally Nauvoo. If you follow the suggested path hitting the major LDS sites from Independence to Nauvoo (including Liberty, Richmond, Far West and Adam-ondi-Ahman) the audio will come on automatically using GPS technology. If you need to make a detour from the suggested path to see Aunt Suzie or stay in a hotel off the path, you can still listen to any missed information by tapping on any sites you missed. Each area of interest has detailed maps that allow you to zoom in and find out more information about each stop. At the attraction, information will play telling the story behind the attraction (The exception to this is in Nauvoo when we let the missionaries tell the story of the different homes).

This app includes the following valuable features-

Over 120 audio points and 78 attractions
The address and phone number of each attraction
Multiple pictures of each attraction
Full written description of the stop
Map of the entire tour route showing each stop and where you are in relation to the stop
The ability to customize your interests and be notified when you are approaching a location with your interests
A rating for each attraction
Automatic GPS audio that will begin as you near each location, as well as the ability to start audio on their own for those without GPS
The ability to replay the audio if you missed something
The ability to read along with the audio as it plays
Estimates of the amount of time you can expect to spend at each location
Attraction hours (both on season and off season) of each stop
A chime that will play when you arrive at each attraction notifying you you have arrived.

It is recommended to bring a phone charger with you. Though you will not be using cellular service or incur data charges, you’re phone will be constantly searching for a GPS signal and thus wear out the battery quickly. If you are traveling in a group, you may also want to get a jack to play through the radio speakers to make it easier for everyone to hear. If you don’t have one, try to pick one up before you leave. Have a fun and safe trip.
